Deakin Business School is offering a Practicum opportunity to the senior MBA students to conduct a project in a business organisation. The main characteristics of the offer are as follows:

To the host company the student will be a no cost resource.

The duration of the project is one semester (July 16 to 19 October 2007).

The candidate (student) will prepare a project proposal ahead of the commencement of the project work. A progress report will be prepared six weeks after the commencement and a final report at the completion of the project. Finally, an oral presentation of the results of the project will be made.

The student will be supported by a senior Deakin academic supervisor and will be assisted by a mentor at the organisation.

• Strategic planning
• Events planning
• Sports management
• Feasibility study for business expansion into a new enterprise
• New product development
• Marketing and product management
• Marketing assignments in pharmaceutical industry
• Process improvement in manufacturing
• Supply chain management
• Human resource policy development and implementation
• Marketing program – textile industry
• Construction industry – project planning and implementation
• Corporate strategy and marketing – airline industry
