SEEKING NOMINATIONS FROM PROJECT MANAGERS TO BECOME GATEWAY REVIEWERS

The NSW Government developed the Gateway Review System to help agencies improve procurement discipline and to achieve better service results from their procurement activity.

Gateway Reviews provide an independent evaluation of procurement proposals to agency management to highlight potential improvements at an early project stage. Gateway uses short, structured reviews to examine projects at significant decision points (or gates) in the procurement process.

For some time, the Gateway Unit has been in consultation with the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM) to allow Project Managers who attend Gateway Training (i.e. Familiarisation Session; Review Simulation Business Case Workshop; Building a Credible Business Case and Reviewer Master Class), to include this attendance towards their Continuous Professional Development (CPD) point system.

With the need for Project Managers to participate on a Gateway Review is increasing rapidly, especially in the areas of hospital facility planning and redevelopments; school delivery and ICT.

Once you have been trained you will also be eligible to register as a Gateway Reviewer.

One day workshops (Training Program) are available for prospective Gateway Reviewers who wish to become accredited as Gateway Reviewers. Individuals who want to gain a better understanding of the Gateway Review Process, and what to expect during Gateway Reviews are also welcome to attend.
