But I don’t have enough points yet. What do I do?

Recertification is still possible via an Assessor.

Up until 1st July 2008, if you don’t have enough CPD points, members can choose to have an assessment via an Assessor for recertification.

Up until 1st July 2008, if you DO have enough CPD points, you can choose to recertify using your CPD points alone.

After 1st July 2008 onwards, recertification through an Assessor will qualify for some CPD points but the balance must come from other categories.  Please see the Categories and Points Table Remember, AIPM believe that it should be continuous professional development that is necessary for Project Managers to keep up to date.  This will be overseen by the AIPM CPD and Governance committee.

I work as a Project Manager - will this count towards CPD points?

Yes.  AIPM recognises many activities in Project Management which show that a PM is improving their skills within their work.  Often activities in a practicing Project Manager’s work can be used, for example where mentoring or coaching others is done within the workplace.  There are a number of categories which will enable practicing project managers to accumulate points through CPD.   However its important to remember that CPD is about continual improvement, rather than just completing your day to day work.
