Project manager since the early eighties for the NSW Department of Public Works and Services working on a large number of infrastructure development projects including the Olympic Tennis venue at Homebush. This work has involved working with consulting and contracting
organizations, as well as other government agencies.

I obtained a master of Environmental Planning in 1999 and have a particular interest in the improved application of project management principles to environmentally sensitive projects. In 2000 I took over management of our Project Management Centre of Excellence. This involves working with a team of senior project managers to improve the quality and consistency in the delivery of projects to Clients, with a particular emphasis on the
development of systems, tools and project management competencies. This experience gives me a practical perspective on project management, as well as experience in the underpinning framework and development of a project management community.

Project Management Interests
As indicated above I have a particular interest in the management of environmentally sensitive projects, and the integration of environmental management system provisions within the overall project management framework from scoping through planning to delivery of projects.

I am also interested in the development and deployment of project management competencies. I have worked within my organization for the adoption of a competency based approach to development of our project managers.
