1. Introduction

Welcome to the April 2006 IRC News.

The PMAA submission deadline is approaching. Please see the PMAA06 page for submission guidelines and information. Click here to find your nearest contact.

Our Job vacancies section has been rapidly moving along. Many vacancies are advertised for three weeks, so if you're interested in other opportunities please check this regularly. If you're seeking staff, you're invited to submit vacancies, subject to a few conditions.

We've a lot of events happening around the country this month. Of particular note will be National Hard Day, on the 19th of May. Click here to find out more.

I'd also draw your attention to our new RegPM Assessors, who will be of benefit if you're considering pursuing a RegPM certification. If you've completed this increasingly used certification, please check and make sure you're on our RegPM register.

Our PM Courses list continues attracting the website's 2nd highest traffic levels, and if you're considering further development I'd draw your attention to the changes to our National and state/territory endorsed courses.

For those interested in activities outside of their state, have a look at our seminar papers page to download presentations made at AIPM functions.

The IRC would like to recognise and thank Trevor R. Bird, one of our International members, who generously provided a complete digitial set papers from AIPM's 1991 "Strive & Survive" conference. These papers will be added to our catalogue of 4800+ project mangement related resources. This catalogue is used to provide research and reference services, and is available for use by all members. Thank you, Trevor.

Continuing on strategy, we're working to improve our membership recognition structure, thrashing out an improved approach to Course Endorsement, developing recognition of PM skills across a range of industries and implementing a Continuing Professional Development Program (CPD). Please contact the Support Office if you've any questions or would like to participate in these undertakings.

To look to the future, keep your eyes open for ProMAC 2006, to be held in Sydney between 27-29 September.

If I can be of help please call on (02) 8288 8751 or email irc@aipm.com.au.
