1. Introduction

August has been a huge month for the AIPM. PMAA events have been enjoyed by all. Chapter committees have been established. We're making final preparations for ProMAC 2006. The Project Manager is proving very popular. It's a good time to be a member of the AIPM.

All Chapter committees have now been finalised. Click here for details of Chapter Committee members. Congratulations to all participants in their respective committees. Following a postal ballot, we have new chapter presidents Graham Selkirk in NSW, Dr. Neveen Moussa in WA and Alan Tuipcoff in QLD.

Notification of further changes will occur at the AGM, which will be held in Sydney on 27 September at ProMAC2006.

All PMAA competitors take note: The PMAA Submissions Online resource has all 2006 submissions available. These are displayed by chapter with a short summary. Information about State and Category winners is made available after the awards event. Congratulations to all competitors, and special mention should be made of our state winners:

With the soon to be announced winner of the SA event, these projects will be competing for National Project of the Year at the National PMAA on 27 September.

The AIPM would like to welcome our new corporate members: the Department of Defence, Infrastructure Division (major), and Snowy Mountain Hydro limited (minor), South Australian Department for Transport, Energy and Infrastructure (minor) and Tasmanian Department of Economic Development (minor).

Our PM Courses Directory has been improved this month, with the addition of the ability to search by state, delivery method and course level. This will make it easier for people to identify training and development opportunities.

I'd also like to welcome the following new RegPM assessors: Edwin Boyd, Fiona Park and Rob Cook. Gregory Cockerill is now also able to assess candidates for MPD certification. You'll also notice the RegPM and Assessors page has been simplified. New members, i'd recommend you spend some time considering next year's development options through the AIPM website.

If I can be of help please call on (02) 8288 8751 or email irc@aipm.com.au.
