IRC News December 2006 PRINT

This December issue of the Information Resource Centre News contains:

Introduction and News

I'd like to wish you all a great Christmas break and a Happy New Year. AIPM has had a very successful year, with many new initiatives and changes to operations.

Thank you all for making use of the services of the AIPM, and especially those who took the time to submit constructive criticism.

Special thank yous go to Mandy Boswell and Peter Dechaineux, who did an excellent job of keeping me on my toes.

For all members, I hope this year has shown an improvement to the services you've received. I look forward to helping you in 2007.

This is an extract of items from AIPM's Online News service. For those that regularly use the website, please read the item of 15/12; there have been some changes to the site.

RegPM

In order to handle the high volume of RegPM requests, Wayne Miller has taken over as Recognition co-ordinator for the RegPM Program. Jo-Anne Locke now exclusively handles Membership Services. Please contact Wayne with your specific RegPM enquiries.

As part of the website look and feel refresh, the Register of Project Managers and the Register of Assessors have both been updated.

For those of you contemplating RegPM, we've published a simplified guide to the RegPM Process.

While our State Chapters have been recognising individuals who have achieved their RegPM this year, i'd like to recognise the 1249 people who have achieved their certification this year. The AIPM was happy to welcome 451 MPDs, 748 RPMs and 50 QPPs. Congratulations.

Research Update: Issue 10, December 2006

As the year ends, i've two things on offer. After several system database changes, i'm now able to make a list of all PMSelect articles from July 2006 to December available in one list. Click here for the last six months of PM Select articles. For the statistically minded, we provided 2380 requests directly to members, and 144 copies of articles.

In place of the regular PMSelect, this month 42 Research Question and Answer documents were published to the site. These are short bibliographies and reading guides, stored in PDF, generated on topics that were submitted to the IRC's Research Request service this year. These are much shorter than the Bibliographies available, but all the articles listed are available for request through our Document Delivery service. Catch up on some professional reading over the break.

New Employment Vacancies

Coming into December, of course the vacancies board has slowed down considerably. Listed below are the entirety of our current vacancies.

I'd like to thank our endorsed recruiters: AristotleRMA and Switch IT&T, who I hope have provided you all with many interesting opportunities over 2006.

This year we've received over 100 formal job vacancy submissions, with hundreds of referrals and references to other opportunites through the IRC. We've also maintained a strong focus on PM related roles, maintaining a niche focus on jobs of interest to PMs.
