THE JOB: The successful candidate will report to the Managing Director, and will be responsible for ensuring the successful completion of the LSS Contract on-time and within budget.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES: The LSS Contract Project Manager will be based on-site. Will liaise and co-ordinate with PlanIt Aqua management and project Teaming Partners, based at remote sites, as well as on-site contractors and the Client Representative(s) at all levels, with the aid of a translator if applicable. Will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the LSS Contract, from the design and materials procurement phases, through to the installation, commissioning of the systems and handover to the Client. Will work closely with PlanIt Aqua’s Curatorial Contract Curator/Project Manager on-site to ensure that the animals’ welfare is maintained from an LSS viewpoint and to maintain appropriate co-operation between the departments. Will supervise PlanIt Aqua’s LSS Contract Assistant Project Manager on-site, to include performance management. Will advocate and model workplace safety planning, according to UK Health and Safety practices, and will liaise with relevant Client-side counterpart to ensure that PlanIt Aqua is also adhering to all legally prescribed Health and Safety measures on-site. Will ensure that all PlanIt Aqua mandated written and electronic communication and administration systems are in place and maintained on-site.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE POSSESSES:

• 10-20 years project management experience on larger, international contracts.
• Prior experience with public aquariums, zoos, hotels or amusement parks preferred.
• Minimum BA/BS in related fields (biology degrees preferred; but engineering or management degrees accepted depending upon the candidate’s professional experience.
• Relevant Professional Project Management certification(s) preferred).
• Working familiarity with AutoCAD and standard desktop software applications.
• Knowledge of MS Project a plus.
• Excellent communications and professional presentation skills; ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines; and problem solving ability are all essential.
