Respected Gartner business analyst Steve Bittinger will discuss the role and value of project portfolio
management at a major industry event in Canberra, 4 - 6 April 2006.
myPrimavera06 will explore issues and trends associated with the growing field of project portfolio
management.
Project Portfolio Management is an integrated and effective approach to managing a large number of
projects, as well as a means to align strategic direction with tactical planning, execution and control. It
establishes a set of values, techniques and technologies that enable visibility, standardisation,
measurement and process improvement.
The conference will focus on the three building blocks of successful project portfolio management
solutions: people, process and technology.
Some of the issues to be tackled include project governance, managing project complexity, resource
planning, benefits realisation and the future of project portfolio management.
Other keynote speakers include Mark Tims, Asia Pacific Leader of KPMG's IT Project Advisory Service Group,
Iain Fraser, Vice Chair of the Project Management Institute and Richard Faris, CTO for Primavera Systems.
