ATSA has been successfully assessed for the award of PMO (Project Managed Organisation) by the Australian Institute for Project Management (AIPM). ATSA received funding from the Skilling Australia's Defence Industry (SADI) program to conduct a program in project management training for managers and staff involved in projects in the areas of maintenance, manufacturing, and research and development.

ATSA specialises in support of complex electro-mechanical systems that are deployed by demanding customers in harsh environments. Operations Director, Neil Hodges, commented that project management training for the whole company provided a powerful tool to ensure on-time on-budget delivery to ATSA's customers including Thales, Saab Underwater Systems and the Minewarfare Clearance Diving SPO.

At the AIPM Awards night on 14 October 2008 in Canberra ATSA was recognised with an award for the best PMO organisation out of all organisations assessed in 2008. The award was accepted by Darren Burrowes and Neil Hodges who thanked Lesley Bentley and the Living Planit team for their support in the learning and assessment process for PMO.
