THE PRESIDENT'S CHRISTMAS MESSAGE

On behalf of the A.C.T. Chapter Council, could I offer you and your special people, our best wishes for the Christmas holiday period and trust you have a happy and safe holiday.

There has been enormous growth in the ACT Chapter in 2005, with record numbers being attained in the areas of membership, certification, attendance at our monthly Forums, attendance at the Project Management Achievement Awards, submissions for the PMAA's and overall interest in AIPM nationally.

This growth and success is due to our fortunate position with the Australian government, being in itself a large employer of project managers and a concerted effort by the Chapter to address the local requirements.

Our sincere thanks go to all our members who attended our monthly Forums and PMAA Event, as your attendance has added to our success.

A SPECIAL THANKS TO THE CHAPTER COUNCILLORS

I would like to acknowledge and thank our Councillors for their commitment and hard work, because without their unerring support and time, the ACT Chapter would not be the success that it currently is as the 'leading star Chapter' in Australia. (National president, David Dombkins appraisal). Thank you Councillors!

We recently awarded Garth Chamberlain ‘Councillor of the Year' for his tireless efforts and highest function attendance – Well done Garth!!

PMAA 2005 - THE BEST EVER!

A special thank you must be given to Phil Stephens, who project managed the most successful PMAA program in the Awards' history. The ACT has certainly set a benchmark for the other Chapters to aspire to! The Chapter Council acknowledges the enormous amount of volunteer effort that was given by Phil to deliver this highly successful and prestigious program, and thank him wholeheartedly for his highly successful outcome.

A grateful thank you also to the group of volunteers who supported Phil in the successful PMAA 2005 endeavours.

AIPM 30th ANNIVERSARY

AIPM celebrates their 30th Anniversary is in 2006, and in the ACT, we are planning a special event to coincide with the National AIPM celebrations.

More news on this in February, but our early prediction is for an event in April, unique in AIPM’s history, incredibly enjoyable and hopefully will encourage you all to come to the PMAA event and probably become an entrant!

CHRISTMAS BREAK

Following the December Christmas function on the 14th December, we will close the ACT office until the beginning of February 2006. Our National office in Sydney will be open right through Christmas and the New Year, however, only with a skeleton staff.
