A big day for QLD Project Managers
Thursday the 20th of August is shaping to be a special day for project managers in Queensland, with three of the biggest events of the year falling on the same day at the Brisbane City Hall

The day will begin with the inaugural AIPM Queensland Forum running simultaneously with the Job and Pathways Fair at the same venue. The Queensland chapter has shaped the event around the needs of its members, and aims to offer local project managers the opportunity to listen to some of the most knowledgeable industry experts at the Forum, whilst also exploring project management career pathways by speaking to the exhibitors at the Job and Pathways Fair.

Some of the speakers and topics being covered at the Forum include:

  • Frankie Carroll - CEO at QldRA. Topic: Project Managing Australia's biggest ever Acquittal - an Accountant's Dream and a Project Manager's Nightmare!
  • Samantha Kennerley - CEO at Youngcare. Topic: Youngcare's journey to be a 'better' organisation through the application of sound project management
  • Mark Pritchard - Senior Project Manager at Jacobs. Topic: The evolution of developmental and sponsorship mentoring for project managers in the modern workplace and why organisations need to get on-board or be left behind
  • Dr Alicia Aitken - Chief Project Officer at Telstra. Topic: Seriously Good Project Managers: Building Capability 
  • Associate Professor Robert Owen - Queensland University of Technology. Topic: People, Process & Technology Combined to save 20% in UK construction; Is Infrastructure Too Big to Change?
  • Stephen Goodwin - General Manager Operations at Brisbane Airport Corporation. Topic: Project Managing G20, a Lesson in Successful Project Management

A ticket to the Forum will also include free entry to the AIPM Queensland Job and Pathways Fair, which will be running from 10:30am-2.30pm in the Kedron Room at the same venue.  The Job and Pathways fair will include exhibitions from some of Queensland’s biggest project management organisations, including

The night will be celebrating the achievements of those in the Project Management profession at a cocktail awards presentation.
