WHAT IS THE DEFENCE SECTOR COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE?
The Defence CoP provides a collaborative network focused on learning, building capacity and engaging in knowledge-sharing, developing expertise and solving problems. It’s a representation of Industry and Commonwealth Defence groups who have a special interest in Project Management within the Defence sector. Project management in Defence requires not only project/program management skills but understanding of government procurement guidelines, probity, ITAR, distillation of defence capability needs and sound engagement across the all of the Defence industry.

The community is driven to improve project management best practises within the Defence sector and to support staff (project managers and others) to implement projects successfully.

Presenter:

Mike Humphries Mike Humphries is in charge of project managed design acquisition and sustainment of projects at Naval Shipbuilding College. He also manages complex hull cuts, jigs and fixtures, whilst overseeing all full cycle and mid cycle docking requirement from ASC and ASC Shipbuilding on the Air Warships. Mike has also worked with Saab Australia on Anzac Class, Lockheed Martin on over the Horizon Radar and F35s, as well as representing the CoA with COLSPO and SEA 1000.
