Adaptive Project Management
A Risk Management Technique for Complex Infrastructure Projects
Project Controls Community of Practice
Project Controls are usually the first thing to be discarded on failing projects. Even with the best controls many large projects still fail, this talk identifies the fundamental reasons why traditional PM fail and proposes a new framework for making projects successful and project controls effective.
The fundamental risk in a project shifts, sometimes unpredictably, and to be successful, management need to adapt throughout the shifting risks and issues as the project is delivered.
Hendrik will discuss "Adaptive Project Management" as a system that can help in managing these problems, by taking applicable principles from "Theory of constraints" and "Complexity Theory", as well as capturing frontline narrative that the senior teams can use effectively.
