SA Water's Smart Network uses sensors and analytic platforms to help identify faults and network anomalies to inform proactive maintenance and reduce customer impact. Mark Stephens, SA Water's Asset Analytics Lead, will provide an overview of the systems supporting this highly regarded project and cover insights derived from the data to illustrate the results they have achieved. 

Drinks and canapes will follow Mark's presentation, which will allow plenty of time for networking with peers and colleagues to celebrate the year that was!

Dr Mark Stephens Mark is currently SA Water’s Analytics and Smart Water Network Expertise Lead and has been in this role for approximately 2 years. Mark has also fulfilled roles within SA Water in its Asset Planning and Engineering Groups and has done so over the last 7 years. Prior to this Mark has worked with United Water as a mechanical and hydraulic engineer providing design, construction and commissioning expertise within capital delivery and operating environments. Mark is an adjunct lecturer at the University of Adelaide supervising a number of postdoctoral students and works closely with the university’s hydraulic and mechanical engineering groups on a range of projects including the SA Water Smart Network Project. Mark has a PhD in Hydraulics, Masters in Hydrology, Bachelor of Engineering and Bachelor of Law Degrees and has worked in the water industry in Australia for over 25 years.
